Therapy for grief & loss

Loss changes you.

When you lose someone or something important to you—whether through death, a divorce or breakup, illness, or a life transition—it can seem as though you’ll never feel like yourself again. You may feel as though you can’t continue to rely on your friends or loved ones without feeling like a burden. Your life has changed and you need a space where you can figure out how to make meaning of your experience and decide what’s next.

Grief is so much more than just sadness.

  • Anger or irritability

  • Isolation

  • Obsessional thinking

  • Fear or hopelessness

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Guilt or shame

  • Physical pain

GRIEF HAS NO TIMELINE. WHETHER YOU’RE WEEKS OR YEARS INTO THIS JOURNEY,

I WILL MEET YOU THERE.

HOW GRIEF COUNSELING WORKS

I want to hear about what you’ve experienced and how you’re feeling. Together we can help you process your loss so that you can re-enter the flow of life when you are ready.

I understand that different types of losses bring up different questions. If you are navigating a divorce or breakup, I can help you look at why the relationship ended and how you can take what you learned into your next one. If you are grieving the loss of someone close to you, I will support you in finding ways to honor the memory of that person as you move into the future.

Understand

You can be as sad as you need to be for as long as you need to be. This is a safe place where you can experience, express, and process this loss without fear of criticism or judgment.

Connect

Learn about grieving in order to better understand what to expect from this process. Start to identify your own strength & resilience.

Reflect

Establish ways to honor your loss and to make meaning of your experience. Look at ways to reconnect with the people and things that matter to you.

  • There’s no right or wrong time to seek out grief therapy—only when it makes sense for you. Some of my clients have just recently experienced a loss, while others are years removed from the event(s). If you need support on this journey, I am here for you.

  • As a therapist I am not here to push you or tell you what to do. Instead, I am here to partner with you on your journey. There is no timeline for this process and no way it “should” look. I will help you honor yourself and your needs as we explore the loss you’ve experienced and the impact it’s had on you.
